Garlenda
History, sport and tourism

Set deep in the quiet leafy woods amid orchards, olive groves and Rossese and Pigato vineyards, Garlenda stands where Val Lerrone opens out into the Plain of Albenga. It is one of the Riviera of Palm’s most elegant and tranquil resorts, a stone’s throw from the sea with numerous cultural and sporting attractions. It has a famous Golf Club which opened in 1965, with a beautifully landscaped, well designed 18-hole course. The course is almost 6 kilometres in length and has 72 teeing-off points. Needless to say it is open all year round. Those who prefer other sports can choose from the horseracing track, football pitch, sport stadium, tennis and boccia courts. Or why not take a gentle stroll to the centuries-old oak tree, now a national monument, near to the church of San Rocco.
